Barcelona Climate
Barcelona experiences a great climate year-round, which makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. While winters can get a bit chilly (January's average temperature is 10C), for the most part the weather is mild and comfortable.
The best time to visit Barcelona is in the Spring or Fall. While the summer months are definitely the hottest (averaging around 25C), the city is packed during this time with throngs of tourists. The temperature is still very enjoyable during the spring and fall, sitting around 20C, and there are less people filling the streets and attractions.
Barcelona can experience rainfall during the warmer months, and the spring and summer can occasionally bring torrential downpours and spectacular thunderstorms. These are few and far between though, so packing a large amount of raingear is not usually necessary for a trip to Barcelona. It is advisable to bring a warm sweater and light jacket for the evening, when it cools down.
