Catalonia Barcelona
Catalonia is one of Europe's many stateless nations, located on the Mediterranean coast between France and Spain. Home to over 10 million people, Catalonia, or the "Catalan Countries" is made up of three territories. The Principality of Catalonia spans between both France and Spain, with Barcelona as its capital. The Balearic Islands lay off the coast, with Ciutat, also known as Palma, as the capital. The Valencien County reaches south of the Principality of Catalonia, continuing along the coast, with Valencia as its capital. The native language of Catalonia is Catalan, although Spanish and French are the official, written languages of this nation.
Due to its tradition of international commerce, Catalonia is one of the most cosmopolitan areas of Spain. It is well established as on of the hottest tourism spots in Europe, and features many amazing attractions of art and architecture. Catalan food is exceptional as well: rice, seafood and fine wines are among the best staples, as well as rich desserts such as the famous "Catalonian Cream".
